Summer Reads with Bianca Lakoseljac
On Monday, July 10th, Bianca Lakoseljac started off our Summer Reads Program by sharing how she immigrated at the age of 19 from Yugoslavia to Canada and her writing journey. She has a series of books from Poetry, Short Stories to her most recent novel, Stone Woman which is about the 60’s and the location is Toronto’s own Yorkville. The Audience recalled the Riverboat where Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen as well as many other Canadian Artists started their careers. Her book also touches on the Sculptures that were made and placed in High Park. It was amazing to reflect on such a colorful and creative past in Toronto.
