COOK

The Cook/Chef prepares the food for each meal as outlined on the menu, utilizing the standardized recipes. This individual is responsible for ensuring that the food is prepared in proper manner and presented to the residents in a palatable and appetizing appearance.

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma, Chef or equivalent.
  • Must have experience in quantity food preparation and the preparation of therapeutic diets.
  • Must be familiar with the use of kitchen equipment.
  • Must have empathy for, and an understanding of the needs of the elderly.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read and write English, and to follow oral and written directions, and do arithmetic calculations.
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Must be a competent person as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

RECEPTIONIST (PART-TIME)

Evenings and Weekends are required for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Experience: At least one year experience dealing with the public via telephone and in person.
  • Other: Strong computer skills– especially with Word and Excel. Excellent customer service skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Strong ability to multi-task.

Summary of Major Functions:

  • Answer telephone calls in a professional manner and direct appropriately.
  • Receive, separate and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.
  • Greet visitors and direct accordingly.
  • Maintains files on the computer and updates information as necessary pertaining to day to day operations and resident information.
  • Assist with clerical duties and office functions as assigned.

PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER

General Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the care manager position is to provide each assigned resident with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the residents’ assessment and service plan and as may be directed by supervisor. Care managers are required to work cooperatively within the department as well as with other departments; report pertinent resident information to the immediate supervisor and respond positively to resident inquiries or requests.

Essential Duties

  • Provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality
  • Knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents and provide support to the resident according to the care plan. Contribute to the care planning process by providing the charge nurse or other care planning staff with specific information and observations of the residents’ needs and preferences.
  • Attend to the individual needs of residents which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, incontinent care, toileting, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals’ care requirements.
  • Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.
  • Answer residents’ call bells promptly and courteously.
  • Perform various tasks assigned by the charge nurse including vital signs, residents’ weights, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, etc.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Current caregiver certification
  • Valid first aid and CPR cards
  • Current Food Handler’s Permit an asset
  • At least one year of experience working with seniors in health care setting
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must enjoy working with the senior population

Experience:

A minimum of one year prior health care aide experience in hospital, retirement, assisted living or long-term care preferred.

HOUSEKEEPING DIETARY ATTENDANT

General Responsibilities

We are seeking a special person to cover the 7am to 3pm shift in our memory care neighborhood.

You will be in charge of preparing and serving breakfast each morning for our 21 residents – (assistance with prep fom main kitchen); tidy kitchen and dishes, reset dining room; perform specific housekeeping tasks as assigned in daily work schedule including cleaning residents suites, washing and sanitizing bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming etc. to assure resident rooms are clean and general assignment areas are presentable to the public.

Essential Duties
